Hi, I am new to WordPress, and I am trying to change my theme. However, my Admin dashboard has no “Design” tab. Does anyone know what might be the problem? I just upgraded to 2.8 and it still doesn’t show. Thanks in advance for your help!

  • *grins* The Design tab is ooold school. ??

On the Admin panel when you’re logged in, look at the sidebar menu. See the ‘Appearance’ header? Click on it and it will open up and you will see links to Themes, Widgets, Editor, Add New Themes.

To change your theme, click on Appearance and then Themes and then browse the directory and activate your chosen theme.

To edit a current theme, click on Appearance and then Editor and check the top right hand drop down menu to see that you’re editing the correct theme (if not, change themes using the dropdown menu) and edit away.

… Except I would make sure you have a backup copy of the theme in case.

I don’t see an appearance header either? It’s just not there… Please help!

… What exactly does your Admin dashboard/panel look like?

I’m in the same boat. I have a widget in the sidebar and I haven’t been able to get rid out it. Any suggestions. I also don’t have an appearance tab or a widget tab. Take a look:
