• When lightbox opens on an single image the description tag is empty. In gallery it works fine.

    <div class=”mfp-description”></div>

Could you check this out? Thx!

    Hi delany,

    thank you for writing us!
Unfortunately, I can’t reproduce the problems you’re having (tested with WordPress 4.7.3, and the newest WF Magnific Lightbox Version (0.9.12).
Have you installed the latest plugin version?

Hey thank you for your quick reply!

We figure out that the problem is in the way the plugin gets the data for description, etc.

If you insert a image and set the description at this time, the lightbox shows the correct data.

If you edit the description if the image is already inserted in a post, this new data will not be displayed. The lightbox still shows the original description which is set at insert time.

We checked out a couple of different lightbox plugins. One of them displays the right way (slimbox 2). If there is a description within the Mediathek the lightbox shows this data. If we overwrite the description in the post this will replace the original data and will be shown in the lightbox.

That should be the right behaviour, right?

Ok we are one step further ??

We find out that in older websites the data-headline=”” tag on images is missing. In this case we could change the Alt tag and it will be shown in the lightbox as the title. The description will be not shown.

If we insert a image new from the Mediathek the data-headline=”” tag will be insert by WP. When we change the Alt tag or description in the post, the tag will not be overwritten and the lightbox shows the tag as description.

    Maybe this helps ??
