No Custom Permalinks, just redirect

Recently installed this plugin.
And it seems, that it does not work as it is called.
There is field for custom permalink on editing screen, but when user enters the custom url, he/she is always forwarded to default permalink structure URL.
Is it supposed to work like this or it is bug on my server?
