    Hi Danny,

I installed your plugin and it’s working nicely, except for the most crucial part: sending the confirmation email. I do get a success message, but I’m already waiting a couple of hours on the confirmation email. I browsed through the reviews and found several comments, but I couldn’t find a quick fix. I checked the double opt-in feature. When I tried to let a friend subscribe, he also didn’t get a confirmation email.

Can you check it? It is in the sidebar on this page:

    Hi there,

Did you enable double opt-in in MailChimp for WP > Forms? Just to make sure you’re not accidentally looking at the Checkbox settings.

I just tested your form and am not getting a confirmation email either, so far. Sometimes it can take up to a few hours (a day at max) for the confirmation email to arrive. Meanwhile, do you see any activity pop-up in your MailChimp API log?

Yep, I enabled it both in forms and in checkbox settings.

I do see some activity in my MailChimp API log, you can see it here: https://imgur.com/OfMOcvF

Hmm, this looks like a bug. The plugin shouldn’t be returning a success message since your form is missing a required list field.

Are you on the latest version of the plugin, v1.5.8?

    I’m on 1.5.7, but updating to 1.5.8.

I tried to adjust the required fields. Now I get an error that my email is not valid after clicking the submit button. So I can’t test if my updates have worked just yet ??

Okay, I just edited the email field to *|EMAIL|* instead of the merge tag, this did the trick with the valid email. Again, I got a success message and now I see a green check in my API log. This probably means its working, so I guess I’ll just wait a while then! I’ll check back with you later, thanks for your help!

Yes, it works, I got my confirmation mail! I think I tagged my fields in the wrong way, which gave an error on the side of MailChimp but not on the plugin side. But just following the plugins suggestions instead of writing my own code should prevent the error from happening ??

Ok, great. Thanks for letting me know, will have a look to see if I can implement some improvements in the plugin that prevent this from happening in the future. ?? Marking this as resolved for now.

By the way, should you have a quick free minute: a plugin review here on www.remarpro.com would make me quite happy!
