• On my blog from the template I downloaded I don’t see an area for anyone to make a comment. My blog is internetmarketingwithjoe.com. Do I need to add something? Thanks.

  • Hmm. When writing a post, check the Comments and Pings field. Is “allow comments” checked?

    If so, open up your index.php and add this

    <?php comments_popup_link('Comment', '1 Comment', '% Comments'); ?>

    before

    <?php endwhile; ?>

    Anyone else have any idea how to get my comments area up and working. No one can make comments on my post. I tried answer in previous answer but still not working.

    Still looking for someone to help solve my problem of not being able to write comments. The comment word is there at bottom of post but when you put the arrow over the word, it doesn’t create link to click on.

    Hi

    I can confirm that I have got “Allow Comments” switched on on every post, and the Discussions settings are:

    TICKED Allow people to post comments on the article

    TICKED An administrator must always approve the comment
    TICKED Comment author must fill out name and e-mail
    UNTICKED Comment author must have a previously approved comment

    Indeed, I just upgraded from 2.0 to 2.6.2 and, while I can see the speech bubble and number of comments to the end of a posting, if I click the text (the bubble has no link), then the following happens:

    – the full posting is presented (good)
    – I see “No user responded in this post” and “Subscribe to this post comment rss or trackback url”.

    I do not get a screen that gives the person who wishes to comment a Username / Password window. I * Occasionally” see the “Leave a Reply” box but that is unmoderated!!

    Which index.php do I edit for ladycrow’s idea to work? I tried it but sadly it made no difference ??

    Anyone know where am I going wrong? Was it the upgrade?

    I had the same problem Go to permalinks and set them to default if that cures the problem go back to permalinks and type in the custom permalink instead of checking the form
