    Hi,

    Until now I used “Widgets Reloaded” to displays category listings for custom post types (custom taxonomies).

    There is no new version since 2 years and with WP 4.4 the display is completely wrong.

    I decide to change to “List Custom Taxonomy Widget”. The widget display has problems.

    But in the Mega Menu the custom taxonomies are displayed in one column only instead 3 as I request.

    See menu “Recette” in :

    https://www.papinette.fr : “Widgets Reloaded” in MMM, “List Custom Taxonomy Widget” in the widgets

    https://www.alph.fr/wordpress (test site) : “List Custom Taxonomy Widget” in MMM and in the widgets

    Thanks for help or advise for an other plugin that works.

    HI,

    I made a trial with “Custom Taxonomies Menu Widget” : same behaviour, 1 column.

    The problem must be somethings fundamental …

    Thanks

    Hi Alph,

    You need to go to Mega Menu > Menu Themes and uncheck ‘Reset Widget Styling’.

    Once you do this your widgets might start picking up your old menu CSS, so to stop that happening you need to remove the ‘main-navigation’ class on the <nav> element that wraps your menu. There’s more info on that here: https://www.maxmegamenu.com/documentation/faqs/removing-residual-styling/

    Hi Tom,

    I apply your changes : the items in the menu have the style of the corrresponding widget.

    But they remain on one column

    See menu Recettes on

    https://www.alph.fr/wordpress/

    PS My theme is a child of Twenty Sixteen. I remove only :
    <nav id="site-navigation" class="main-navigation" role="navigation" aria-label="<?php _e( 'Primary Menu', 'twentysixteen' ); ?>">
    and
    </nav><!-- .main-navigation -->

    Is that enough ?

    Thanks

    Hi Tom,

    I remove also
    <div id="site-header-menu" class="site-header-menu">
    and
    </div><!-- .site-header-menu -->

    >> The Duke is always alive i.e. only one column. The menu is not on the same place

    Thanks

    Hi Tom,

    I made a lot of tests. Conclusion :
    – MMM works correctly, ie display the sub menu in column as defined in the parameters, with the plugin “Widgets Reloaded”
    – MMM does not display the sub menu in column as defined in the parameters, ie display only one column, with the plugin “List Custom Taxonomy Widget” and “Custom Taxonomies Menu Widget”.

    Are these 2 plugin imcompatibles with MMM ? Is there a possibility to change the style with CSS ? Others ?

    Hi Alph,

    I can’t see any CSS output by “List Custom Taxonomy Widget” or “Custom Taxonomies Menu Widget” that would format the list into 3 columns.

    I also notice that the widgets in your sidebar (the ones not inside the menu) are not formatted into 3 columns – should they be? If they do not list in 3 columns there they will not list in 3 columns in the menu either.

    Hi Tom,

    It has been a long time since I had installed MMM. I was persuaded that the number of columns of a widget in MMM depended on the parameter right top in MMM. I was completly wrong. I apologise for all that.

    I resynchronise. The format of a menu based on a widget is define in the additionnal CCS in the menu MMM/themes.

    For “Widget reloaded”, .categories define the appearance of the menu. I cannot find the equivalent for “List Custom Taxonomy Widget” or “Custom Taxonomies Menu Widget”. I search with F12 in IE.

    Any advise or any help ?

    Thanks

    Hi Tom

    I found the solution and I tested it on my site.

    I made a change request for the plugin “List Custom Taxonomy” to implement a class “Categories” in the output function.

    Thanks for your help.
