    No checkbox appears in the contact form. I use the original WordPress contact form.
    Or do I have to add the checkbox manually? If so, how to establish a reference to data protection? (I could also add a radio button by hand. “I agree to the processing of my data”)
    Wordpress 4.9.6, Theme Uku by Elmastudio.
    Is the PHP version used important?

  • Change template site contact from contact to default.
    Then install contact form 7 plugin and will work

    I’m having the very same issue (no checkbox under contact 7 form) on 3 different websites which are all 3 using different Thrive Themes. The checkbox does NOT appear under the comment forms either, so I have had to Disable the plugin. ??

    @new_joerg in having another GDPR plugin installed in yet another website today, I discovered that PHP 5.5 was necessary. Hope this helps you.

    I switched from php 5.6 to php 7.2 This didn’t help.
    The checkbox don’t shows up wether I’m locked in or not.
    By the way: the checkbox don’t appears below the comment form either.

    @trible thanks for your info ??

    What do you mean with “original” WordPress Contact form? You mean the comments form? If so, do you have a direct link to your comments form so I can take a closer look? Make sure the checkbox is toggled on.

    @trible; 99% chance it’s a styling issue with your themes. We do not offer any styling via our plugin to prevent any clashes. Do you have a link to your form so I can take a closer look?

    @donnyoexman
    Sorry, I meant I use Jetpack’s contact form. A link to a used form in my first post starting this thread.

    So do I have to switch to one of the contact solutions (Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms) you mentioned inside your plugin?

    However, the checkbox is also not displayed for the comments. For example here https://linden-limmer-hilft.de/paten-fuer-fluechtlinge-gesucht-informationsveranstaltung/

    Most likely it is a CSS problem. Where can I find documentation on which CSS styling you use?

    #commentform p.wpgdprc-checkbox label {
        display: block;
    }

    Thank you @donnyoexman
    I added your css-lines – now the checbox shows up ??

    @donnyoexman You are so right! It was an issue with the themes and the developer has fixed all 3.

    But my Contact Form 7 pages are still missing the checkbox and text. I would gladly provide you with a link to one of my site’s contact forms, but there is no privacy box below this message form for me to use in providing the URL (only the initial ticket is provided with one), and I do not want it made public.

    Thank you.

    Hi @trible
    same here with the comments forms.

    For Contact Form 7 I found out: in the WP GDPR Compliance plugin you have to activate Contact Form 7 and set a checkmark for every single form.

    And probably the WP GDPR Compliance plugin only supports the two contact forms mentioned so far (Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms).

    The plugin seems to be really good. But the description and instructions could be a little clearer. OK – nobody’s perfect ??

    @new_joerg amen to that!
    My theme developer sent me the link to the details on what to add to the Contact Form 7 forms. Now all is fixed… except when I respond to comments from my Dashboard. My response gets labeled Not accepted, but thankfully is still being displayed.
