No category book field within 6.1.3. version

Correct – the ‘Categories’ has been replaced with the ‘Genres’ field for various reasons – but it should function the same way, so wherever/however you were using the ‘Categories’ field, you should be able to do the same exact thing just by using the ‘Genres’ field – and yes, this applies even to the Categories Extension, if you’ve purchased that!

I just tried to put my custom category within Genres field and updated the book. We are using [wpbooklist_shortcode action=”amazon”] on our page. But even with category/genre change for that book, filter by category is displaying the old category (from Amazon) within drop down instead.

We were using custom categories for each book before and those are categories our customers are more familiar with. Before (with 5.8.4 version), within drop down, our custom categories were displaying and thaw was a great feature for us! Now, there is no way to filter products by our custom categories, even when genre for each book is changed…

Am I missing something?

so this now only works with books entered before the switch:
“?filtercategory=Nonfiction&querytable=wp_wpbooklist_jre_saved_book_log”
