    Hello,

After removing the url structure of the categories on my website starting with “/category/”, when I make a new translation and want to view it, a 404 error appears.

Even if I try the “No category Base” feature both with the rank math plugin and with a different plugin, the problem is the same.

    Example:

    sitename.com/cars/ – works fine

    sitename.com/de/autos/ – won’t work

but if there is no change in the category name in the 2nd language I translated as in the example above, there is no problem.

    Example:

    sitename.com/de/cars/ – works fine

Do you have a solution for this?

    Hi,

    That’s exactly the reason.
There is no support for removing /category/ base or the URL structure and having it work correctly on translated versions at the same time. For the time being don’t have plans of supporting this structure. By default, in WordPress, you should have a CPT base.

    @alexcozmoslabs thanks.

I understand the logic of the question.

I also want to ask this, there are too many categories on my website.

Before you told me this solution, I had translated all the categories.

then I cleaned all of them.

but then I checked a few times and some of the category translations that I cleaned are still there.

is there any way to permanently block category translations?

because there are too many categories and I don’t want to have a category that doesn’t work in the future without realizing it.

    Hi,

You can translate the category slug with the same default language string of the slug. However, here we are talking about slug translation, which is a pro feature of our plugin. For more details, please write us on our website, https://translatepress.com/support/ask-a-presale-question/.
