The Advanced setting is the default, as shown in the Screencast link you sent: “Preserve line breaks, auto paragraphs (default).”

What do you have set for your event template (textarea above the calendar settings)?

I just tested this on my side and if I put line breaks then it will put each word on a separate line as I have it in Google. So I am just trying to see what might be different between us.

I took a snapshot of the entire page but it’s in three sections:

Ok do you also have HTML in your event descriptions? (Edit: descriptions on Google)

If you don’t then try removing the html="yes" from the [description] tag.

For some reason, there’s now a double space appearing between paragraphs in Simple Calendar’s description when there’s only a single space line break in Google Calendar but I can live with that.

That might be related to the option I pointed you too before. WordPress will sometimes automatically add paragraphs to line breaks so that option tries to help with that. You could try setting it to the other options to see if it helps any.

Hello–I, too, am getting extra paragraph breaks in the [description]. I have it set to “No line breaks, no auto paragraphs,” and have manually added line breaks in text edit window.

Still, the description gets its own paragraph breaks, and weirdly if I add a text descriptor, like I have for the other short codes, I get yet another line break. I see the p when I use Firebug, but I can’t seem to get rid of it by changing the CSS margin. Can you please advise?

Another idea is to make sure you are using the HTML editor for your event template and not the visual editor.
