No canonical set for print pages

  • Hey there,

    the print pages create URLs like https[…]/wprm_print/786/ but without a canonical tag to the equivalent recipe page. This leads to internal duplicate content. Is it possible to automatically set canonical tags in the header of the print pages to the counterpart? It is essential for search engine optimization.

    Hi Benjamin,

    I’m not sure if a canonical tag is the best solution here as it’s not really the exact same content as the regular recipe page. We will however add a noindex tag so Google ignores these print pages.

    Hey Brecht,

    thanks a lot. “noindex, follow” with a canonical tag is imho the best solution for the right signals to Google and the others.
