No breaks in content. Dissappearing tags!

Hi, I have a static home page, and I’m writing some info, but it’s alot of info that needs sepperating, in other words paragraphs.. lol! If I press enter it does nothing, so I go into the html and insert breaks <br /> and when I save it works.

But, if I go back to visual, type some more and save, the break tags magically dissappears and all my content is one huge ass paragraph!! What the hell??

Why is it doing this?
Please help!!
