I configured FTP/SFTP but the backup file from the server does not automatically transfer the backup copy to FTP/SFTP storage (I even unchecked ‘Web Server’ for backup storage). Is this a normal behaviour / limitation for FREE version?

    Hi @keysuck,

    Thanks for your question.

You may actually have this set up correctly. To complete a remote backup Total Upkeep must first create the backup on your web server so that it can be transferred to remote destination.

This particular backup has to be created on the web server but you can set the retention to 1 one ensure that multiple backups are not being stored but there’s no way to actually transfer the backup without first taking it on the web server.

Are you experiencing an issue or getting an error message as a result of this? If so please let us know so that we can inspect further!

    Thank you!

per your advice, I checked both web server and FTP location for backup storage and then proceeded with the backup. However, the archive file was only saved in the web server upon backup completion (without further saving a copy to FTP storage), and my only option was to manually uploading to FTP by clicking Upload button inside the backup details page. I expected the FTP upload to proceed automatically after the web server backup completed, but didn’t happen. Is manual upload after the web server backup the only option?

    Hi @keysuck,

It sounds like you set this up correctly but the FTP transfer process did not occur. For that, the first thing you want to do is verify your FTP credentials are configured properly.

Then Configure Your Backup On FTP / SFTP Storage

    • In the Dashboard, Navigate to?Total Upkeep → Settings
    • Under the Backup Storage Section, Select Configure FTP
    • Provide your connection credentials
    • Click?Save Changes
