At the end of the authentication process, the dropdown list doesn’t show a profile for me to choose, and I can’t complete the automatic process. There is a property configured at Google Analytics.

    Hi there,
Can you send us a message at monsterinsights.com/contact. We’re going to need to login to take a look at this but we’re pretty confident we can resolve this quickly

    Message sent.

Same problem here, on only one site the upgrade did not detect the existing google authentication. Re-authenticating with Google now at step 3 produces an almost invisible drop down where you can not select a profile.

    Hi there,
Can you send us a message at monsterinsights.com/contact. This is caused by certain plugins/themes using global select2 styles and we’ll need to login to confirm which plugin is causing the issue, and issue you a patch plugin for it

Same problem for me – I can select lots of other profiles for other websites but none for the actual site it relates to. I can’t really send login etc as I use 2 Factor Auth and lock things down so it is always a pain to give access – I’ll just keep an eye out for updates.

    thanks

That’s a completely different issue than what they are experiencing. Are you sure you have a Google Analytics property set up for that website? How many properties are on your GA account?

    -Chris

    Hi Chris

yeah – I have around 70 websites – each with 4 Properties each and weirdly the actual property for each site is not able to be selected although I can select any other – This is true across all of the websites.

I solved it by unsunstalling the plugin. Too much complication for something that sells itself as simple.

@madaboutu If you try typing in the first couple of letters into the select box, do you see the correct property? If not can you get in touch with us at monsterinsights.com/contact.

Hi – yeah I get the Account show up but not one of the Views. I have a client with 2 sites. One has a single View e.g. All Data and their other site has 4 different ones e.g. Master Data, Test Data, All Data etc. I am able to select the View from their other site or any of the other sites I manage – but not the actual view of the site in question. this is the case across all sites.

hi there, i have the same problem, but there is a workaround for this:
as @chriscct7 pointed out, this is an issue with the styling of the selectbox. some css seems to be interfering.
the dropdownbox does show its content – but not in the setupbox (the setupbox is one layer above the dropdown content making it not visible) – if you click on the profileselectionbox and hit “cancel” youll see the values of this box floating in the main window.

solution: get to the selection of the profile, click on the dropdownbox and hit the first letter of your profile you want to use (you should know that), then hit enter.
doesnt work? try “a” (for all website data), then enter

Wouldn’t it be simpler to let us enter the profile/property/site? If the selection box conflicts with other plugins, maybe isn’t it a luxury in this case? Because without this entry, we can’t have the dashboard feature of the plugin.

By the way, version 6.0.11 didn’t work for me either.

    > If the selection box conflicts with other plugins, maybe isn’t it a luxury in this case?

I think the mistake we made in retrospect is grossly underestimate the number of poorly coded plugins and WordPress themes that unnecessarily load entire admin CSS files that override all select boxes, not just the ones that the particular theme or plugin actually adds. That’s why the boxes don’t appear, or they look partially hidden on certain sites. There’s a theme or plugin installed that is not coded correctly and it’s loaded their CSS onto our admin pages (strike 1), targeted all select boxes and not just their own (strike 2), and made their rules take priority over ours even though it’s our admin page (strike 3).

For those who contacted us as instructed above via our website, we’ve logged in, determined the conflicting theme/plugin and have been issuing updates, oftentimes same day (or providing those users with a custom made plugin, just for them) so they can get going.

    > Wouldn’t it be simpler to let us enter the profile/property/site

What you actually select in the dropdown, which you can’t see as select option values aren’t shown, is the Property ID and the View ID. When you authenticate into Google, we gather the list of the views you have access to, and we display them visually using their display name, so that users can select based on strings they understand (for example “Filtered View” of “www.monsterinsights.com”.

The Google API requires the Property ID and the View ID in order for us to be able to run the queries that generate the dashboard. We can’t do it based on the title of the property, title of the view, title of the website, url of the website, UA code of the website, etc, it can only be done with those two numbers. That’s why we don’t offer a text input option as a backup. In the new Google Analytics UI which is rolling out to all Google users over the next week or two (if you’re not one of the 50% who doesn’t have it already) the former ID is no longer exposed inside of Google Analytics, thus why we can’t have 2 text boxes for you to find numbers (which even in the old UI are hard to find) to copy those into.

On Monday we will be releasing a point release that we believe will solve this issue for all users, by changing the tactics we were using to deal with these conflicts.
