Within the plugin Forminator I linked my mailchimp account to one of the forms with an API key, but when I fill in the form, the entered data does not appear in the mailchimp audience.

I made the links under ‘assign fields’. The names of the Merge fields in Mailchimp have been adapted to the name of Forminator, but none of the fields are visible in Mailchimp after using the forminator form. When I then go to the submission list, I see the message next to the new submission:

    Mailchimp Integration
    Integration Name Forminator
    Sent To Mailchimp No
Info Request could not be processed: Your merge fields were invalid.

I also went to https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#mailchimp, but I don’t really find the solution there either. There must be something I so wrong, but what can it be?

    Hi @robromeijn,

Sorry to know that you are experiencing this issue.

Could you please export the form and share it with us using DropBox or Google Drive so that we can try to replicate the issue at our end?

    Ref: https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#import-export

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Kind Regards,
    Nebu John

Thank you Nebu John. I created a link to the export-file: https://1drv.ms/t/s!AnITlVsix9YdgcIfTGivKUuTJsXI2w Hope this will do?

I just noticed that tags were added to someone who was already in my mailchimp audience and used the form today. But sadly only the tags were added, not the other data like city, birthdate etc.

    kind regards,

    Rob

    Hi @robromeijn,

I gave a quick test on my system but the submission worked fine without any issue and the data got sent when checked.

Since the error points to the following on your side:

Info Request could not be processed: Your merge fields were invalid.

The issue would be more related to the merge fields added to the Mailchimp side.

Could you please share a screenshot of the Merge fields you have added on the Mailchimp side, you should find that under Audience>>All Contacts>>Settings>>Audience fields and *|MERGE|* tags

Please check whether there are any fields which is marked as required that you haven’t added during the integration on the Forminator side while assigning the forminator fields.

If that isn’t the case, then please do also share a screenshot of the fields that you have assigned on the Forminator side to Mailchimp, so that we could have a better idea.

Please do let us know how that goes. Looking forward to your response.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin

    Hi @robromeijn,

Thanks for the screenshot, could you please check whether disabling the “Required” checkbox on the Mailchimp side in the screenshot makes any difference?

Please do let us know how that goes. Looking forward to your response.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Nithin,

I have now disabled all checkboxes, except for the email address. But unfortunately, the data from Forminator still does not end up in Mailchimp. Still get the message that the merge fields are unvalid.

Sorry for the late respons, been on holiday, ??

    Hi @robromeijn,

That’s odd, is it still the same error you notice when you check the submissions under Forimantor > Submissions? or are there any further info on what shows up as an error?

Since your form works out of the box on my site, I’m afraid the issue is still related to the Mailchimp side. Could we know did you try checking with Mailchimp support to see if they could provide any insights?

Could you also please check how it behaves if you create a brand new “Contact Us” form and try to integrate that with Mailchimp? Would that also cause the same error?

Please do let us know how that goes.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin

    Hi Nithin,

Thank you for your information. I have no idea what I did, but I just got a new submission, and to my surprise (almost) all fields were taken over by Mailchimp. While Forminator still states, at the bottom of the submission, that the request could not be processed by Mailchimp.
Hopefully it will work next time too. I’ll keep an eye on it and let you know if it turns out to be a coincidence.
