No “Add Media” buttons to upload images – missing

  • Ever since I installed WP 2.6 (no, I have not upgraded yet), I have not been able to upload image files from my dashboard. This is a problem since this is supposed to be a photo blog, and I am already quite tired of opening my FTP client every time I want to upload an image.

    I read Otto42’s sticky post on the subject and searched around in the forums for other threads that might answer the question. I currently have NO plugins active. I cannot even find where I might turn on the Visual Editor. (There is no option under the admin profile options.) It’s like the whole thing is missing in some sort of WordPress Bermuda Triangle.

    On the Write Post and Write Page screens, I have buttons for certain HTML tags like <b> and <img>, but it does not look like this page. The “Add media” bar is not there at all. No way to toggle between “Visual” and “HTML.” I’m stuck on HTML, which would be fine except I can’t upload image files. Any help?
