No access to backup files in WordPress 6

  • Before updating WP 5.8 to 6.0.1 I made a fresh, complete backup. I could not download the backup file. Error message:

    Forbidden
    You don’t have permission to access this resource.
    – – –

    I had an older, similar backup so I took my chances, updated WP, uninstalled BackUpWordPress and wanted to re-install it, read the info and it said:

    Warning: This plugin is not tested with this version of WordPress.

    Tried it anyway. Still won’t work..
