• Hi,
I run a simple website with wordpress. All of a sudden, it takes minutes until flyingfifteen.mallorcaservice.de/wp-admin shows the login. After inserting correct username and password the following message appears
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, service@webmailer.de and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The website is hosted on a Strato webspace. Don′t know where to find an
    error log.
    flyingfifteen.mallorcaservice.de/.httaccess seems to be correct.
    error log.
Last changes where just change of text a few days ago.

Can anyone give any advice? Thanks for any help!
    Michael

  • Hello @michaelbeecken,

I encounter exactly the same issue (same WP+Strato). And I know another WP user (from GER) having this problem. The other member told me he contacted Strato and that they’re being fixing the issue. But no changes so far. Do you have a contact at Strato? Maybe if we are several to report them this issue, they will speed up to fix it.
    Regards,

    Hi,

the issue seems to be resolved now.

    Hi yes! solved!
Did you or Strato do something or did it repair itself?
    Cheers and thanks

    Hi again,
I guess Strato fixed the issue this morning. In fact, Strato was first contacted by a German WP member (from another WP.com thread). This member told me that Strato were aware of the issue and they would fix it asap.

Anyway, this issue happens from times to times. Generally Strato fixes it rapidly. What would be a real plus is that Strato anticipates and communicates with it customer base (via a mailing?) to tell them that they’re aware and they’re fixing the issue. This way no need to panic and try to change some settings in WP.

    Good luck

I contacted Strato and they told me, that the problems are massive waves of attacks against WordPress installations, which they try to block.
They say, that they cannot predict, how long this problem will last, but they always try to analyse the attack profiles and repair the admin access each time as soon as possible. So the best solution for us clients seems to be, to wait a while until the acces works again.
    Cheers

    Hi @michaelbeecken,

thanks for the useful information and your initiative with Strato.
Yes, the best thing is to wait a while before acting and starting to modify WP settings or disabling plugins.

I’m generally satisfied with Strato, except the fact that they should notifiy the users that they’re aware of the issue and that they’re fixing it. It’s just a communication point. Service is good.

Let’s stay connected for the next time issue ??
    Cheers,
