    Hi nintechnet,

I have NinjaFirewall on my WordPress site, as well as the well-known Wordfence security plugin, which you probably have heard of. Wordfence provides a different type of security which should compliment NinjaFirewall.

However, I have found that while NinjaFirewall is enabled, some of the Wordfence functionality doesn’t work. But if I disable NinjaFirewall, then this Wordfence functionality works fine. So it seems that NinjaFirewall somehow blocks some functions of Wordfence, although I don’t know exactly how or why.

For example, Wordfence has a really good Login Security feature, which blocks users who have too many login failures, or who try to log in with an invalid username. Wordfence also keeps a logfile of the login attempts. I have found that while NinjaFirewall is enabled, Wordfence will still detect the bad login attempts (these attempts will still appear on Wordfence’s log), but Wordfence won’t block them like it should.

But when NinjaFirewall is disabled, then Wordfence will block those bad login attempts.

Do you know why NinjaFirewall prevents Wordfence from functioning correctly? Is there anythin you or I can do to allow Wordfence to work? The best security for our websites is when we can use more than one security plugin which covers different aspects of security, because not one plugin covers all possible areas of security.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

NinjaFirewall is faster and will block the attempt before your plugin.
You will probably need to click NinjaFirewall > Firewall Policies and scroll down to Protect against username enumeration and uncheck Through the login page.

Thanks – when I disabled the username enumeration “through the login page”, then Wordfence worked correctly. Problem solved!
