Nickname not working?

I’m not sure if this is a bug or if I’m just missing something.

I’m using FeedWordpress for some product feeds. FeedWordpress creates some really ugly user names and assigns them to a link category of “Contributors”. All well and good.

I’ve gone into all of the feed profiles, assigned them a nickname, and set the nickname to be the default to display.

In my theme I have wp_list_bookmarks(); in the sidebar. The category “Contributors” comes up as a heading, and then it lists the feed profiles – but, it lists the *original* user profile rather than the nickname I’ve given them. It appears the “display publicly as…” is not working.

I’ve looked at the wp_list_bookmarks(); parameters, and I don’t see anything that looks like it controls that. So, I have to assume either a bug exists or something is just not consistently being handled.

Any suggestions for work-arounds?
