I needed a quick solution for accepting tips. After having reviewed a few I selected this one because it was clean and uncomplicated. Install and setup were straight forward, and there is just enough customization without over complicating a simple function. I did receive an error preventing a submission during the first outing, but the developer responded quickly, addressing the error and pushing out an update immediately. Can’t ask for more than that ??

EDITED: I edited my review to remove a feature request when the developer informed me the feature was already present in the plugin. I’d add another star if I could ??

Thanks so much for the review! We’re so glad to hear it is working well for you.

To answer your question about the one-time payments only, you actually can do that in the current version!

Where you’ll find the controls for that depends on whether you use the Classic Editor, or the new Block-Based Editor (aka Gutenberg).

If you’ve placed the Tip Jar onto your website using the Block-Based Editor, you should see the option right inside the editor when editing the page in question.

There will be a button above the recurring options that says “Disable recurring options”. It looks like this:

If you use the Classic Editor, and you’ve entered the Tip Jar as a shortcode, you should see a button above the body area that says “Edit Tip Jar Shortcode”. When you do, it will pop-up and you have the same controls as the screenshot above!

Thank you! I discovered why I missed those options. I used Elementor to create that page, and the options didn’t display even when using a text editor (though the button appears). Is there a list of options/syntax for me to manually create a full shortcode?

Ah that makes sense! I will see what we can do to get support added for Elementor so it’s easy to set up there as well.

The shortcode itself only accepts a single parameter. That is the form ID. All of those granular controls are controlled by the User Interface itself, and not by the shortcode. (This is how we are able to get the same functionality for both the classic editor and for the Block Editor.)

In the meantime, you can do this:
    1. Add the shortcode to a Classic Editor on a post (not using elementor)
    2. Click to edit that shortcode using the button above the editor which says “Edit Tip Jar Shortcode”.
    3. Make your changes and update the post.
    4. Copy the shortcode that is in the post body.
    5. Paste it anywhere you want, including with an Elementor post, and it will retain all of your customizations.
    6. You can now delete the original post from Step 1.
