• UPDATED! My issue has been resolved, please read the whole thread. ??

I started using this plugin in August and went for the Starter plan as I specifically liked the mobile follow bar. I have been happy with the quality of the plugin and how easy it is to use and integrate, but ultimately decided not to stick with it as I wanted to minimise my plugins and calls to external websites.

Unfortunately, this is where my experience turned negative. I cancelled my monthly subscription exactly two weeks into the billing period. To my surprise, the account was downgraded instantly. I also did not receive any pro-rata refund for the reminder of the billing period. Effectively, GetSocial has stopped me using the service, but kept the funds I paid to have it for another two weeks.

I sent an email via the website asking what was going on. This was 4 days ago and I’ve heard absolutely nothing back. I cannot find any reference on the website as to what happens when a subscription is cancelled.

So to anyone thinking of using GetSocial’s premium services, be very wary and if you want to cancel, do so only at the end of your billing period. I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but I feel I have to say something to prevent other people having this experience.

Hello Rebecca, this is John (GetSocial CEO).

I’m honestly sorry this situation has happened to you. Our team is working hard on some important product launches and it was my mistake not to take care of the support processes while they’re buried in work.

I’m personally going to follow up on this still today.

Accept my apologies on this one.

    Hi John,

Thanks for your very prompt response and for your follow-up email. ??

For anyone reading this, I just want to update the review to say that John has assured me this won’t happen to customers in future and has kindly given me a generous extension to my subscription.

I would adjust my rating to 5 stars, but I don’t seem to be able to. So hopefully other users will notice this update and see a happy customer.

    Thanks again John. ??

EDITED to say I found out how to re-rate from 3 stars to 5.
