Nice Permalinks doesn’t work

  • Hi all,

    I’m having problems making my permalinks look nice.
    I go to ‘Option’ ‘Permalinks’ and select ‘date and name based’…Then when I click on a page it throws up an error page.

    Any suggestions?
    I thought it would just be a matter of selecting one of these radio buttons.

    PS I have my wordpress installed in a folder called ‘blogger’ in my root folder.

  • Are you getting the error for new posts you create or only the ones that were in place before you updated your permalinks?

    select the radio button on the permalink style you want, hit the UPDATE button then wait 15 to 30 minutes for everything to update. Then try it. If you are on godaddy.com it takes awhile to update.

    On Godaddy or secureserver linux hosting accounts, before messing with .htaccess try this:

    Go to the Customize Permalink Structure page. Where it says “Custom, specify below” put in the following:
    /archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/
