Hello, I had been using Fail2Ban along with ConfigServer Firewall with excellent results in regards to blocking brute force logins on WordPress sites. Recently I add the NGINX server as a front-end to Apache as a way to speed up websites. The side effect is that failed WordPress logins are no longer being recorded in either the Apache or NGINX logs.

Would anyone know if this plugin can be configured to work with NGINX installed?

    Thanks!

  • I use it with nginx as the only webserver and it works very well. You should check your setup because you may end up logging localhost for the failed logins, as this is the source address of the requests that apache sees.

    See WP_FAIL2BAN_PROXIES in the readme.
