The URL above is the index for all our podcasts. Click any one to see it not working.

Last week this message appeared in our WordPress Podcasting dashboard: “We’ve detected that your website is using NGINX. In order for Seriously Simple Podcasting to play your episodes, you’ll need to reach out to your web host or system administrator and follow the instructions outlined in this help document.”

I have read the linked document and forwarded it to our web provider who needed to contact the host provider. The hosting provider said they were not willing to make the changes because it would be applied to the entire server and could interfere with all the other clients.

I did search the forums and didn’t find any other suggestions to fix the problem.

Was there some kind of update that happened last week that would have caused us to now be “out of compliance”? What changed and can we roll something back?

    Hi @stpagh,

Sorry to hear you encountered this issue. I’ve just checked your site, and it looks like it doesn’t show any page except the main page. So, the issue might be somewhere else, not with your server settings. I would suggest first trying to fix this issue, and then we can move to the one you mentioned.

A potential quick fix is to update your permalinks. You can do this by navigating to Settings -> Permalinks and clicking “Save Settings”. Please try this and let me know if it resolves the problem.

Well, that was easy! Yes, the step you suggested fixed the problem. Cool.

    So I still have questions:

    1. Do you have any idea why this happened? Did we inadvertently do something wrong?
    2. Do we just ignore the error message about NGINX? I don’t know why that just started to show up either.

    Thanks!
    Sheryl

After a few minutes, the NGINX error went away so that answers question 2.

I can see that your files are currently working correctly. The message you’d got has appeared due to the 404 error, and since it has been resolved, you can safely ignore it now.

    Best regards,
    Serhii.
