ngg_tag giving soft 404 errors

Since the 2.x versions of the gallery broke my site I switched back to 1.9.13 and everything works fine again. However, for some days now Google Webmaster Tools complain about an increase in soft 404 errors on my site, all caused by ngg_tag!
I am using Yoast’s SEO but ngg_tags are not included in the sitemap. I therefore suppose the problem is generated within the Gallery itself.
What can I do about these errors?
