NG Basic Imagebrowser: page jump when load new image

Is there any way of stopping the page jump when scrolling through a gallery? I know it does this as it’s a fresh page load – which is important for us – but the ability to not jump back to the top each time would be appreciated.

AJAX is an option but this doesn’t give us the pageview count, nor the unique url for each image, both of which are required.

We’re using WP 4.4 and the very latest version of NextGen gallery.
