next/previous entries problem

hi all, the link at the bottom of my index page has a link to “previous entries”. When clicking that, you are taken to “https://jeffrey-davis.net/blog/page/2/” but it does not display the next five older posts, it displays the same posts as are on my main index.
could anyone help me resolve this? thanks.
