After upgrading WordPress to 3.9,NextGen 2.0.33 gave the following error on trying to create a new gallery/uploading images:
You browser doesn’t have Flash, Silverlight, HTML5, or HTML4 support.

I upgraded NextGen to 2.0.65, and the message disappeared, I can now create galleries and upload images. However, the next/previous buttons as well as the image title have now gone missing (when viewing the full image against the black backdrop).

I upgraded WP to 3.9.1 and de- and reactivated NextGen, but it doesn’t help. I tried switching to all the different Lightbox effects (I used to use Fancybox), and only with Highslide I can still navigate through the images (but it doesn’t show the title).

I’m 100% certain the NextGen upgrade caused this, as I have another website using the exact same techniques, and there, buttons & title are still showing (but currently cannot upload images because of the same error).

Can you help me fix this?
    Thanks!

@boris – Both site read like there are possible plugin conflicts (and likely that is also the extent of the similarity in the issues). Have you tried checking for that?

    Hello Cais,
you are correct. It turns out to be a conflict between NextGen and WP Post Tabs PRO. I’ve submitted a ticket to their support forum, but since NextGen is the other half of the problem, can you help me also?

    Hello Cais,

I’m running into similar problems with different websites. Navigation within the lightbox is simply not showing. Is there a configuration setting I’m missing somewhere?

@boris – We do not have any other reports of issues with WP Post Tabs PRO so I do not have anything to offer for that at the moment.

As to the navigation issue(s) in the Lightbox, which one are you referring to?

@cais – All of them. Lightbox, Fancybox, Shutter, etc. None are showing navigation buttons.

@boris – Is the lack of navigation buttons related to the conflict with the WP Post Tabs Pro plugin? … or would this be a different issue?

@cais – Problem solved. I changed to 2011 and the problem was gone. The cause of the issue was that I had deregistered jquery and reregistered jquery with a cdn url in my functions.php. Apparently not all plugins can handle this. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

@boris – Thanks for the follow-up and letting us know what you had to do.

I’m not sure. I created a child theme using the Weaver Pro framework as a basis. In the child theme’s footer I added a call to the loading of the footer scripts. This caused a number of javascripts not to load. When I removed the call, the problem was fixed.
Still, it is strange that with the same configuration it worked fine before the NextGen upgrade. But not strange enough for me to want to find out what exactly was causing the scripts to stop loading. ??

@boris – Thanks for sharing that; not sure exactly what may have happened but I’ll tuck that note away for future reference … just in case.

    Thanks Boris

I’ve been struggling with this problem all morning and your question was exactly the same as mine.

I too had to calls to jQuery and removing the one in the foot solved my problem.

    Was driving me nuts!!!!
