nextpage on an Elementor page

After creating my sites stories page which is not part of my blog, I realized that eventually it could get pretty long. My theme is Oceanwp(Free). Page builder is Elementor(Free). So I tried using (<!–nextpage–>) in the page builder with an html widget. The page numbers get pushed to the bottom and both pages show all the content. I have tried as much as I am knowledgeable of and can not find a solution. I am trying to accomplish being able to insert a page break after X amount of stories get placed on this page. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
