NextGen will not work with WP 4.5

    I am not a high level programmer! I am only a user of WP. I have a problem with update WP 4.5.3 and NextGEN Gallery 2.1.46 that has come out of the blue. I am using Theme Catch Box and reloaded the theme. Cannot upload images to any Gallery that has been in use for years and I have used NextGEN for 2/3 years with not one (1) single problem. Now I cannot upload any images even after using the NextGEN reset plugin. And have lost the settings selection to configure NextGEN. I can access all of my Galleries and images. Need a simple solution that I can understand. A new problem is occurring ie – “Your browser doesn’t have Silverlight, HTML5, or HTML4 support”. I have been using xhtml 1.0 Transitional and again have not had a single problem until the update above. Error occurs with all 3 browsers IE 11/10/8, Foxfire and Chrome. ALL are the latest versions!     @jkelly298 – We have a great many installation in our user base where they have the current version of WordPress and NextGEN Gallery … when you updated did you also update other active plugins on your site? One of those may now be creating a conflict.

    I have also faced some issues with WP 4.5.3 and NGG 2.1.46. Admin part seems to work without problems, as well as different displays (classic thumbnails, imagebrowser, Pro blog style etc.)of galleries work ok.

    But I have now problems with displaying galleries through albums, the result is in most cases just 404 (not found) but occasionally displays correctly. So far I have not found any clue why this happens, even though it seems to raise only on pages, but not any posts. Another plugin and conflict with NGG could be the source, but I tend to think there is some transient conflict with WP 4.5.3 and NGG when handling pages.

    Previously all albums displayed galleries as it should in thumbnails whether the galleries were new or several years old. I found the problems accidentally when trying to find an few years old image which belongs to a certain album. Possibly this has also something to do with the number of images and galleries, my site has more than 3 000 images in almost 200 galleries.

    I’ll keep on testing and hope to find a solution or workaround soonest. Sometimes it seems a workaround that works is to build a (static) page anew from scratch and use NGG media insert to display albums – but even this does not seem to work with all albums/galleries. As said all albums and galleries show up correctly at admin side.
