NextGen Undefined offset Errors causing 500 and 502 Errors that crash site

this is different than the well-publicized Cron job issues. using debug we’ve seen that NextGen gallery is throwing off several notices/warnings in the newest updates (since version 2). our host has determined that this is the causation of several 500 and 502 errors we are having. disabling the plug-in doesn’t fact eliminate the server errors. does anyone have an immediate fix?
