• Hey I’m using the nextgen slideshow for the front page of my site but in IE8 the images do not load and the loading animation is just shown.

    Any ideas why it’s not working as this slideshow should work in IE8 as I have seen other examples where it works fine.

    Here is the page: laalmuna.com

    Works perfectly in firefox/chrome/safari.

    Anyone have any ideas? Sorry to bump but I can’t figure this out…

    Edit: The slideshow works fine when IE8 is in “compatibility mode”. This is not much good however as most IE8-using visitors wont have compatibility mode activated or know to activate it.

    Beautiful site btw. I got the same loading animation, but it worked in compatibility mode. Don’t have an answer but hope you get it worked out.

    I don’t know if this helps, but my site is running the same type of slideshow you are and its working fine in IE8/compatibility mode

    Thanks for the reply and the compliment. I’ve changed the front page to a static image.

    Couldn’t figure out what was causing it not to work in IE. Compatibility mode did work fine but I don’t think IE is in compatibility mode by default. This would cause a problem for many non internet-savvy visitors who are still using IE8.

    If anyone has any ideas why it didn’t work I’d appreciate it hugely. Unfortunately you’ll not be able to test it on my site anymore as the slideshow has been removed. I might set up a test page soon elsewhere.

    I think I can help your. I had a very similar problem, slideshow work in IE only for the first time, but when I reload page or follow by link – the loading animation is just shown, like in your case.

    But I found some site, where slideshow work fine in IE8, so I analyzed the code and find the differences in versions of this file:
    _____________NextGEN V1.7.4(installed on my site)___________________
    <script type=’text/javascript’ src=’https://interra.kg69design.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/js/ngg.slideshow.min.js?ver=1.05′></script&gt;
    __________and NextGEN (Unknown version) (some site)_________________
    <script type=’text/javascript’ src=’https://www.rau-autowood.com/blogs/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/js/ngg.slideshow.min.js?ver=1.03′></script&gt;

    As you can see, there is a difference: ver=1.05/ver=1.03, so I just download ngg.slideshow.min.js?ver=1.03 and replace ver=1.05.
    Problem solved.

    This worked for me, thank you.

    Perfect! This worked flawlessly for me, too! Thank you so much ??

    I had the same problem and found a hint on Mr. Rabe’s home page where he says the imagerotator.swf must be in the gallery folder. On the WP plugin page it said in uploads folder. It worked for me.

    I had the problem, tried to paste the coding .js with ver 1.03 already but still not worked (or i put it wrong i don’t know) where can i download it?
    if with imagerotator, the slideshow would not be the same as i expected.

    my website https://www.villabugis.com

    please anyone advise.

    problem solved. I have to deactivate lightbox2 plugin.

    I like the laalmuna.com front page. Would someone please tell me how one can use a picture for outside background? I am using Weaver 2.0.

    Thanks!

    Found it, created 1600×1000 wallpaper with Gimp and replaced the background image.

    I do not understand, where can I get ngg.slideshow.min.js version 1.03?

    Your can extract it from previous version of NextGallery or just download from other sites, where it is used. Or your can download it here https://kg69design.com/freebies.html (I share this file on my personal site)

    @kg69design – thanks very much, I’ll give that a shot.
