NextGEN Public Uploader Plugin crashes on activation

  • I get Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/franzis/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-public-uploader/inc/npu-upload.php on line 6 when trying to install the current Version 1.2.2 DE-Edition on my NextGen with the following version/status:

Speicherverbrauch : 6.58 MByte

SQL Modus : Nicht gesetzt
PHP Version : 4.3.10-22
PHP Safe Mode : Aus
PHP Allow URL fopen : Aus
PHP Memory Limit : 32M
PHP Max Upload Gr??e : 20M
PHP Max Post Gr??e : 14M
PHP Max Script Execute Time : 30s
PHP Exif Modul : Ja ( V1.4 )
PHP IPTC Modul : Ja
PHP XML Modul : Ja

    Any ideas? I already did a redownload and reinstall (try) of both. NextGEN is working fine, except for an error, that displays an error A failure occurred [more] 1 when finalizing on the thumbnails – although there is no real error, as everything turns out nice. But I don’t really see a connection there, do you?

    Help!

  • As of right now NextGEN Public Uploader requires PHP5.

    PHP Version : 4.3.10-22

    Looks like your on PHP4. If you can upgrade it will no longer throw an error. I’m looking for a work around as well.
