NextGEN Plugin – Odd Error Message, Can't Install
-
Hello,
I recently installed a fresh, new version of WordPress 3.0 under NBouteneff.com to start from scratch. I then purchased and installed the Photocrati theme. Part of the Photocrati installation includes the installation of the NextGEN Gallery Theme. I host via 1and1.com and used a 5.0 MySQL database.
When I attempted to install the NextGEN Gallery plugin through the WordPress dashboard, I got this odd error message from WordPress:
“Upgrade NextGEN Gallery
“The script detect that you upgrade from a older version. Your database tables for NextGEN Gallery is out-of-date, and must be upgraded before you can continue. If you would like to downgrade later, please make first a complete backup of your database and the images.
“The upgrade process may take a while, so please be patient.
“[LINK]Start upgrade now…[LINK]”This seemed odd, since I was installing NextGEN for the first time. When I click on the “Start upgrade now” link, I then get the message “Upgrade successful” followed by a “Continue” link. However, if I click on “Continue”, I get the same exact message prompt to upgrade shown above, with the same outcome. Nothing ever gets upgraded, despite the “success” message.
Can anyone help? Alex Rabe, are you out there? ??
Thanks,
Mike
