    Hi,

I set up two pages with images layed out exactly the same. All was fine. Even portrait images cropped and scaled perfectly to 130×100. Later, I made the mistake of playing around with watermarks for the images on one of those pages and didn’t like them so I had to remove the entire gallery and recreate it to get rid of said watermarks. But the newly uploaded gallery on that page do not scale to 130×100 like the other page and as they used to. I have custom CSS to change the border color and spacing between pics only. That still works fine. I’ve tried resetting the gallery settings for the image size to 130×100. I’ve tried re-uploading the images to the media gallery to the desired size of 130×100. I’ve recreated and added the gallery at four times now. No changes. Please tell me what has happened and more importantly, how to fix the problem page so it matches the other page again!

    Here are the respective pages:

    (desired appearance)

    https://dalesamms.com/gallery/headshots/

    (problem page)

    https://dalesamms.com/gallery/stills/

I also noticed this difference between the two in Page Info:

Page Info for the working page shows “Dimensions: 0px × 0px (scaled to 120px × 90px)” for all thumbnails on the page.

whereas Page Info for problem page shows: “Dimensions: Xpx × Xpx” (the values are different for each one and no mention of scaling in brackets as with the other page’s info).

@dbab – Are you using the same options for each specific display that you inserted? The “problem page” appears to not be “cropped” as the thumbnails are of varying aspect ratios and dimensions.

If you are setting your thumbnails under Gallery > Manage Galleries (and not using a shortcode to insert the display) you will need to remove the existing display and re-insert it with the Insert Gallery Window (“green button”) and/or re-open the IGW and modify the current customization options you are using for the display.

    Hi, Cais.

I did insert the thumbs under Gallery > Manage Galleries, I did not use shortcode (I’m new to coding so I avoided doing this where possible). I did insert it with the green “attach Nextgen Gallery to Post” button. Is this the Insert Gallery Window you mean? If so I have done this and modified the “Customize the Display Settings” section before. It hasn’t made a difference to the page’s appearance.

    Thoughts?

@dbab – Have you tried removing the “problem” gallery and re-inserting it (adjusting options as needed)?

Sorry for the long delay in response here.

I actually created a separate test page and reinserted both the original and recreated galleries. They both present the same layout/cropping issue on that page too.

@dbab – Can you provide a link to the (new) test page you are working with?

Absolutely. Thanks for looking at this for me, Cais. Appreciated.

    Test page is here: https://dalesamms.com/test/?preview=true
NextGEN settings are still “override thumbnails” to 120×90 with crop thumbnail selected.

On the original live page I tried deselecting “override thumbnails” in Display Galleries tab in NextGEN and got a change in how portrait pics were displaying, which is better (https://dalesamms.com/gallery/stills/).

But still not the layout I’m trying to get it back to where everything displayed exactly the same size (https://dalesamms.com/gallery/headshots/).

@dbab – Unfortunately, in most cases, we cannot see a “preview” post link without being logged into the site so I cannot see specifically what is going on there.

The specific inserted display should be creating “new” thumbnails (for that display) if you have over-ride thumbnails set with the cropping option set to yes and those thumbnails should use the dimension of the override settings … if this is not happening then we may need to delve into this further.

IF this is the case, please send us a Bug Report (https://imagely.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can get a better look under the page at your site.

Please include as many details as you can about your site and the issue at hand so we can move on this as fast as possible.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
