[Nextgen Gallery] Wrong Image Count

I’ve just noticed, that the image count of the next gen gallery is twice as big as it is supposed to be. So image 1/5 is shown as 2/10.
Searching the web I have found a lot of old threads with the same problem, but no solution was ever posted somewhere.

Does anyone of you know how to fix this?
