Nextgen gallery v1.8.1 NggTags links not working properly

  • I recently upgraded to nextgen 1.8.1 I have also installed wordpress SEO.

    However, neither of them seem to get the links to the tags right.

    The tag cloud doesnt work at all, although nextgen produces a list of the tags currently being used, with what looks to be valid usage.

    SEO produces a XML site map for the tags, which works better than the tag cloud, but doesn’t necessarily display the right images with the right tags and its says many of them havent been updated since the beginning of June.

    Is there something simple I can do to reset the links to the tags.

    Have removed all my tags from all my images but sitemap still has links in and nextgen thinks there are images still tagged (I think it may be to a gallery that has been deleted).

    Have no updated the database to remove the invalid tag counts.
    This has now stopped SEO producing the invalid ngg_tag sitemap.
    Would still like to know how to get this working properly
