Hi, my site is https://www.inspiredautosport.com, I have added NextGen albums on the Photo-book page. I have the following issue:
Albums are displaying but they are displaying in odd format, 3 in one row, 2 in the other, 1 in the next, then 3 again, it’s almost as if it’s in some sort of Masonry format. Same issue happens when you click on a Gallery and it shows the images in odd format. I would like for it to be conistent number of galleries per row. I tried doing the Crop Thumnail Images, which gives the consistency among rows but it crops my thumbnail image, which I do not want.

@rnarian – In order to have a consistent layout you need to have consistent thumbnail sizes in your displays.

It would seem you were working along the correct idea with re-sizing and cropping the thumbnails, you just need to add the extra step of “fixing” those thumbnails that are focused on the “wrong” space when cropped by editing the thumbnail in the gallery.

Once you have done all of this under Gallery > Manage Galleries you should clear the image cache under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous and then re-insert the displays.

    Thanks!

Hi Cais @photocrati, below are the steps I followed but still experiencing issues, please let me know if I am doing something wrong?:

1.) Gallery Settings > Next Gen Basic Thumbnails & NextGen Basic Compact Album > I said YES to Thumbnail Crop
2.) Gallery Settings > Next Gen Basic Thumbnails & NextGen Basic Compact Album > Override Thumbnail Settings is set to YES
3.) Gallery Settings > Next Gen Basic Thumbnails & NextGen Basic Compact Album > Thumbnail Dimensions are set to 240 X 240
4.) Other Options > Thumbnails Options > Thumbnail Dimensions are set to 240 X 240
5.) Other Options > Thumbnails Options > Set Fix Dimension is set to YES
6.) Under Manage Galleries, I selected all Galleries and did Create New Thumbnail Option
7.) Went to Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous and cleared the cache but where and how do I re-insert the displays as suggested by your comment above?

@rnarian – Those steps should sort out galleries going forward … but to re-insert the the display(s) you are already using just go to the post/page where they are inserted and remove them. Then add them back in again using the IGW.

    Thanks!

Hi Cais, I have also been experiencing this issue. I have just followed the steps as outlined in Marian’s post and then deleted and reinserted the galleries on the relevant pages. Now none of the thumbnails are showing. I can only see the title and tag of each image. What needs to happen now?
    Thanks for your help

@photocrati – So I need to delete and re-insert all the galleries again, that’s a lot of painful work :(. Is there no other easy way? Or is there any other Gallery you know of that’s responsive and beautiful?

@rnarian – If the first set of troubleshooting steps did not sort out the issue then, yes, you may need to re-insert the displays.
