NextGEN Gallery : Tables could not created, please check your database settings

It’s mind boggling that with the millions of installs of this plugin, that no one is able to fix this problem. I’ve spent hours trying all the suggestions in all the posts about this error. But, I don’t want to give up hope that some day someone will find an answer. (Unlike my developer who says “Don’t worry about it. It can’t be fixed and is not causing any problems!) However, for now, I guess I’ll have to let it go.
