• I have already opened a ticket about losing my settings after updating WordPress and NextGEN gallery: I started that thread before having been given the above warning about the NextGEN Gallery Stylesheet.

nggallery.css is currently stored in /home/www/lupiart.com/wp-content/themes/twentyeleven_lupiart/nggallery.css, which isn’t upgrade-safe. Please move the stylesheet to /home/www/lupiart.com/wp-content/ngg_styles to ensure that your customizations persist after updates. “

Please can someone explain to me how to remedy this: I am an amateur web person but trying to get my head round it. I’m having heaps of problems with my wordpress site and in particular NextGEN gallery since updating everything. I’ve deactivated all plugins, then reactivated NextGEN: I’ve tried different, default themes; I’ve changed the security settings on my hosting (which has helped with the initial issues I was having when I opened the other thread)… getting kinda desperate! I would be totally up for buying the NextGEN Pro to have access to support – only I’m feeling a bit skeptical about it now!

@lupiloon – The message indicates you should move your custom stylesheet to the folder ../wp-content/ngg-styles/; or, you can copy the contents our of your custom stylesheet and paste them into the Custom CSS section under Gallery > Other Options > Styles.

    Does that help any?

    Hi Cais,

I understand what it says but I can’t find that folder – I have looked in all my local folders related to wordpress… I will try the second thing…

    Thanks,

    Lucy

    Hi lupiloon,

have you tried to copy/paste the css contents directly to NGG’s css editor which you can find in Other Options –> Styles?

I think (I’m not excatly sure though) this should generate the correct folder for you and from that point you can start any style edits using this service.

but I can’t find that folder

@lupiloon, you can create the directory ../wp-content/ngg_styles manually if it doesn’t generate by itself (it should), give to it the right permission (e.g., 755), and then put your CSS as @vesat suggested.
