NextGen Gallery – Slideshow problem

  • I have installed NextGen Gallery and I have been able to display galleries. However, when I try the slideshow, nothing appears on the page.

    I uploaded the “imagerotator.swf” (which I got from longtail) into the NextGen Gallery folder, but it still doesn’t display.

    Here’s the code I used (I’m assuming width and height are in pixels):
    [slideshow id=1 w=100 h=50]

  • I had the same problem. Here’s how I brought with me to run the slideshow:
    – Follow the instruction of gnocchi. Very important that the path in slideshow options include the filename of the stored imagerotators.swf: https://www.yourdomain.ch/wp-content/uploads/imagerotator.swf

    Additionally, I have moved the imagerotator.swf file into the plugins directory to the folder of Nextgen Gallery (like the instructions of tomasi514). Whether it’s helped, I can not say right. Now that I’ve deleted the file from this plugin folder, the slideshow works still.

    But perhaps this step is necessary.

    that didn’t work for me, but /wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/imagerotator.swf did

    Same problem as realidan2, danatang and thesandeepgoyal.

    From what I can understand, if imagerotator.swf is appearing, but always stuck in the “loading” screen, then that means it cannot find either the XML or the images. So the position in the folder structure as it relates to those files is important………. BUT i long to see someone explain it clearly ??

    For me, I have decided to put all my galleries inside a folder named “whatever”, instead of having them accumulate in my website’s root (that’s an option I can change in the NextGEN options). I did try both ways, but still got the loading screen.

    I tried diffrent locations for imagerotator.swf, didn’t work either, got the loading screen, nothing more…

    How about the creators of NextGEN and/or imagerotator.swf help us clarify this, instead of all of us scratching our heads in vains… ??

    I am using WP WordPress 2.9.1 and JW Image Rotator 3.17 and having exactly the same problem.
