• I have installed NextGen Gallery and I have been able to display galleries. However, when I try the slideshow, nothing appears on the page.

I uploaded the “imagerotator.swf” (which I got from longtail) into the NextGen Gallery folder, but it still doesn’t display.

Here’s the code I used (I’m assuming width and height are in pixels):
    [slideshow id=1 w=100 h=50]

  • I think in newer versions of next gen, the slideshow size is determined in the settings – I tried the code you used and nothing showed, but it worked fine using just [slideshow id=1] (insert number of gallery you want to use!)

I’ve tried both of this but no luck on mine. Can get picture list either

I have the same issue. Could be a WP 2.7.1 issue as the plugin hasn’t been tested on that yet.

I got the same problem and here how I fixed it:

    1. Download imagerotator package from the link provided in Gallery/Options/Slideshow in the Dashboard.

    2. Upload the content of the downloaded folder imagerotator into wp-content/uploads. Remember all the files should be in wp-content/uploads, NOT in wp-content/uploads/imagerotator. I know they said you can upload it to wp-content/uploads or a subfolder, but I tried with the subfolder option and it didn’t work.

    3. Go back to Gallery/Options/Slideshow in the Dashboard, and click on the button Search Now, it should provide you the Path to the Imagerotator (URL): https://yourdomainname/blog/wp-content/uploads/imagerotator.swf

    4. The slideshow should be working now.

I tried all of your stuff and it still don’t work for me. I have everything in place. I got an error that said, gallery not found. But it is there.

I have same problem, I found the path when I installed the website locally on my computer, now it is online, I changed path but WordPress Cannot find the imagerotator.swf file.
    What’s wrong here ?

All right, thanks to another post, I found my own solution.
Place the magerotator.swf file in wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/ folder
Then change path in slideshow options for

    https://www.yourwebsite.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/imagerotator.swf

    Works fine for me.

please note that when you add the imagerotator.swf to the plugin dir, it will be erased during the next auto upgrade

Hi Alex, thank you for this precision. Can you precise what auto upgrade you talk about? WordPress or the gallery plugin?
In any case, are there upgrade that are not validated by website owner?

    gnocchi’s instruction worked just fine.

I followed gnocchi too and it worked for me. Thank you so much.

I am using Nextgen version 1.3.6 and WP 2.8.5 I have tried both versions above to get the slideshow to work but neither of them do. All I get is a blank screen that looks like it is trying to load. The gallery works fine but the slideshow does not. Please help.

I have the same problem as realidan2. The slideshow page only shows a black block with a running circle, looks like trying to load.

I got the same problem and here how I fixed it:

this one works for me…thank you gnocchi

    Thanks all contributers!
