nextgen gallery slideshow in header slow load

hi, i use nextgen gallery slideshow in header and although pics are optimized to the max and light, it is starting with slight lag on every page reload…and there is also this strange like pic dissolving fx for second or so before load

unfortunately i dont have online version but maybe someone had this problem also and knows what i am talking about?
