NextGEN Gallery or any gallery plug-in that handles categories

Hi
I have spent a couple of hours now scrolling through forums and how tos without any luck.

I’d like to, on a certain page, display all the photos (in a nice gallery) with a certain category no matter where it was placed (page or post) on the site or purely uploaded to be given a category.

IE: On my dog “Cleo’s” page I’d like to publish all photos of her that have been categorized with “Cleo”. The photos can have been published in the “latest news” blog or on another page ie “Our champions”.

Surely there must be a solution for this?
