NextGEN Gallery multisite install creates false path

When I install NextGEN G. it always creates this path:
blogs.dir//1/files/frontpage.
I can see that it creates this false path already in Network settings, I can correct it, but at the end the path appears IN GALLERY SETTINGS as shown above. I cant change the path in Gallery settings.
It does create the folder frontpage, uploads images and creates a thumbs folder, but no thumb images. And then I can see that it attempts to load an image with above path. I uninstalled, deleted, re-installed, no luck. Any hints PLEASE?

PS I have no problems with the path of other gallery plugins.
