[NextGEN Gallery] Hide file extension, make underscore as space

Hello. Would it be possible for a PHP code to hide the file extension in the alt/text description, such as hiding .jpg, .png, .gif, etc. Also, would it be possible to make the underscores in an image file a space, while showing the alt/text description. Let me know, thanks.
