@marikane – Are you referring to the Gallery menu item not being available in the Dashboard sidebar and/or no IGW (green button) in the Visual tab of the editor?

If that is the case, then you may need to use our external Reset Tool plugin to help sort out this issue. Please submit a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) with your site details so we can get you the Reset Tool.

    Thanks!

    Hi Cais-

I mean when I reinstalled the plugin, there were no gallery files in the Dashboard sidebar.

Will the Reset Tool be able to bring back the gallery files?

@marikane – If you updated from a NextGEN Gallery version older than 2.0.57 then there could be an issue with your WordPress database user not having the ALTER privilege.

Hmm, that’s interesting. How do I find out about the Alter privilege?
And, how can I restore the galleries?

@marikane – You may need to contact your web hosting service to have them ensure your WordPress database user has the ALTER privilege. If it does not, have them add it, then if you roll back to NextGEN 2.0.40 (see this article for assistance: https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/how-to-rollback-a-version/) you should be able to re-update from there and your galleries will re-appear (if this is indeed the issue at hand).

    Hi Cais-

I was able to successfully rollback to 2.0.40. I see a file for Gallery in WPContent. But in the Nextgen Gallery Overview it says 0 Galleries.

How do I make the plugin recognize those Gallery files?

    Thanks

@marikane – Did you confirm your WordPress database user has the ALTER privilege?

Rolling back to version 2.0.40 will give you the correct upgrade path going forward if that privilege is available, the galleries may not appear due to updating to the most current version first.

    – Cais.

PS: If you do have the ALTER privilege set and re-updating to the latest version does not make the galleries available again the we will want to see what is going on directly at your site. Please submit a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) with log in and FTP credentials for your WordPress installation and we can continue from there troubleshooting. C.
