NextGen Gallery: Galleries don’t display after 2.8!

  • *Sigh*, when will I ever learn to not upgrade right away? ??

    Subsequent to my upgrade to 2.8, NextGen gallery will not display my galleries embedded on pages anymore. I have tried removing the gallery, reinstalling it, upgrading it–you name it. I’ve tried everything except whatever the one thing is that will fix it.

    Anybody know what that one thing might be?

  • I eventually sorted my galleries and shortcode problem by:

    1. Deactivating NextGen
    2. Removing the NextGen plugin from the plugin folder
    3. Downloading a fresh copy of v1.3.3 and installing it to the normal folder
    4. Reactivating NextGen
    5. Updating the permalinks to another structure and then changing back to the structure I wanted and updating them again.

    Everything works ?? No idea what the problem was and I know others have tried this without success but it has worked for me.
