NextGen gallery File name on Pictures
-
Hi all,
I prepared 570 photos I took for customers to see and order. I uploaded them in 4 or 5 different galleries and summed it up in an Album.
The album shows the gallery and when you click the corresponding gallery is shon as Image browser.
I wanted the file name to show when the picture is clicked in and enlarged, so that customers can now the reference.
However it is not as easy as I expected. I was able to get it to when I build the galleries by myself instead of creating an album by using the shortcode [nggallery id=1 template=caption].
On the “Manage Gallery” section has two fields for each photo: “Alt & Title Text / Description“. During import the file name is copied to the Alt & Title Text field (the first one, the small). I found that if the file name was to be written on the ADescription field (the large one) then the name appeard as I wanted to.
i found solution on the net where you had to tweak the php codes and so on, but I didn’t get it to work. Because I would spend more time looking for a solution than copy-pasting from one textField to the other and I was in a rush, I ended up spending 45 min copy-pasting 570 items.
So, is there any way to do that in a more effective way? Some extension or something easy to do?. I would even consider another image gallery if necessary.
